DRIVE HIRES ANDREW BAKER AS NON EXEC DIRECTOR

Drive, the co-production and deficit financing company, announces today that Andrew Baker is joining the company as a non executive director with immediate effect.

Baker will be working with Drive in a strategic and advisory capacity, to help to grow the business in the UK and internationally.

Baker was previously Head of Business Affairs for Granada Television and ITV, before founding Rights TV, the leading provider of business affairs and commercial advice to the media, film and television industry, in 2004. Baker later sold the company to Compact Media Group in 2011. His role with Drive will see him working closely with joint MD’s Ben Barrett and Lilla Hurst, advising on a range of strategic and commercial objectives and opportunities

Ben Barrett, Joint Managing Director, Drive, says: “Having worked with Andrew many times over the years, I know firsthand that his experience and knowledge makes him an ideal person to have on board as we continue Drive’s expansion both in the UK and internationally.”

Lilla Hurst, Joint Managing Director, Drive, adds: “Andrew has a rare mix of legal and business expertise, as well as a strong commercial background. With his respected reputation and great industry contacts, he is a fantastic addition to our team.”

Andrew Baker adds: “Two years since being founded, Drive is at a key point in its evolution, and I am delighted to join the company to help Ben and Lilla shape the direction of the business going forward.”

Drive was founded in April 2013 by Ben Barrett and Lilla Hurst to facilitate the production funding process by providing consultancy services and sourcing finance for TV projects.

Drive’s primary objective is to help its clients finance their programmes in the most commercially efficient way possible, usually via co-production or pre-sale, as well as by other means including media funds, commercial partnerships and ancillary rights exploitation.

From specific project management through to a full range of commercial services, and from development and financing through to rights exploitation, Drive’s aim is to make life easier for its clients by providing advice and steering them through the areas of their businesses in which they need support.

Drive’s production clients include Raw TV, Bedlam Productions, Blink Films, Yap Films, October Films and Barcroft Media amongst many more.
